Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2, 2026
This policy explains what Inspecta does with the information that passes through its mold assessment software: what a homeowner submits through a company's assessment widget, and what a company gives us to run its account.
Who this covers
Inspecta sells software to mold inspection and remediation companies. Those companies put an assessment widget on their own websites, and homeowners use it there.
If you are a homeowner, the company whose widget you used decides what happens with your submission and contacts you about it. We hold and process that submission on their behalf. That company may have its own privacy policy governing how it then uses your details.
What a homeowner submits
- Your answers to the assessment questions: where the problem is, how large the affected area looks, the materials involved, how it looks and smells, whether water is still getting in, how long it has been visible, and who is living in the space.
- Any photos you choose to upload.
- The contact details you enter on the final step: your first and last name, email address and phone number.
- Whether you agreed to be contacted, and the time you agreed.
- The address of the page the assessment was opened from, the page that referred you to it, and any campaign tags carried in the link.
- The assessment we produce from the above: a written summary, a concern level, recommended next steps and, where the company's widget is set up to show one, a preliminary cost range.
We do not store your IP address alongside your submission, we do not record device identifiers or location, and there are no advertising or third-party analytics trackers on the assessment. As on any website, our servers do see your IP address while handling the request: it is used to rate-limit abuse of the public endpoints, and it is passed to our sign-in provider when someone signs in to an account.
What a company account holds
- The name and email address on the account, held through our sign-in provider.
- Company details used to brand the experience: business name, logo, colors, contact details and the text shown to homeowners.
- Widget configuration, and the rates a company enters if it wants preliminary estimates priced.
- The leads, assessments, photos and reports generated in that account.
- Records of activity in the account, such as when an assessment was started or completed, and a log of the emails we sent and whether they were accepted.
There is no payment processing in the product and no card details are collected or stored. Billing is arranged directly with you.
Cookies and sign-in
Our sign-in provider sets cookies that keep a company user signed in, including one the page can read to tell whether a session is active. The assessment widget itself does not set advertising cookies and does not track homeowners across other websites.
How AI is used
Producing an assessment means sending the answers and the uploaded photos to a third-party AI model provider, which returns a written summary. Up to the first three photos are sent, and unusually large files are skipped. We keep a record of each of those requests — which template ran, which model, whether it succeeded and how long it took — to diagnose failures.
Assessments are generated automatically. They are checked by our own software before they are shown, to keep them from diagnosing a condition, naming a species or making health claims, and no person reviews your submission unless the company you contacted tells you otherwise.
Who your information is shared with
- The company operating the assessment widget you used. Sharing your submission with them is the point of the product.
- The service providers that make the product run: our hosting provider, the object storage that holds uploaded photos, the sign-in provider that holds account credentials, the AI model provider described above, and the email provider that delivers notifications and report links.
- Destinations a company chooses itself. A company can configure its own webhook endpoint, and we will send each new lead and finished report there — typically to its CRM. What happens at that destination is governed by that company and the tool it picked, not by us.
- Anyone we are legally required to disclose to.
We do not sell your information, and we do not resell leads. A lead captured in a company’s account goes to that company only.
How long it is kept
Submissions, reports and uploaded photos stay in the company’s account for as long as that account exists. We do not currently run an automatic deletion schedule, so nothing is removed on a timer.
A photo you take back out of an assessment before submitting it is deleted from file storage at the moment you remove it.
There is no delete button in the dashboard yet. Deleting a lead, a report or a company account is a request to us, and a person carries it out, so it is not instant. Deleting a lead removes its answers, its assessment, its report and its activity records from the database, and the photos uploaded with it from file storage. Deleting a report also ends its link: the address stops resolving to anything for whoever still holds it. Deleting a company account removes its leads, assessments, reports, photos, widgets and settings the same way.
Our hosting and database providers take routine backups outside the product. A copy of deleted information can persist in a backup until it rotates out; we do not restore deleted records from them.
Security
Traffic to the product is encrypted in transit. Uploaded photos are held in a private storage area rather than a public one, and company accounts are protected by our sign-in provider.
Two limits are worth stating plainly. A finished report is reached through a long, unguessable link, and anyone who has that link can open the report without signing in; treat it the way you would treat any private link. And no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that information sent to us will never be accessed by someone who should not have it.
Your choices
You can ask for your information to be corrected or deleted. A homeowner should ask the company that received the submission, since it is their record. A company user can edit company details, branding and widgets in the dashboard, and can ask us to delete a particular lead, a report, or the account and everything in it — which we do as described above.
You can also ask the company that contacted you to stop contacting you at any time. Their follow-up is theirs, not ours.
Children
The product is sold to businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child’s information has been submitted, tell the company that operates the widget so it can be removed.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Continuing to use the product after that means the updated policy applies.
Contact
Questions about this policy or your information can be sent to hello@getinspecta.com.
If you completed an assessment on a company’s website, that company holds your submission and is the fastest route to having it corrected or deleted. Their name and contact details appear on the assessment you used and on the report you received.
